Could we fix it so that every time I select "melody" for a hymn or part of the liturgy in "Create service" mode, I do not have to click on "melody" for every single hymn and part of the liturgy in "edit bulletin" mode? Its a real time waster.

Oh I really like this idea. I have selected melody in the options but I still have to select it everytime too.

Does the "Service Format" dialog in Bulletin Task (you can get there by clicking the "Content" label underneath Text/Melody/etc buttons) not do what you're looking for?
(Sorry about the belated post; I missed this thread!)

It does change the text to melody but you have to click on it every time to make the change, I have not found a way that it will just only do melody. I have checked it in the options area of service setup to do so but I am still having to change everything by hand.
You know we are really funny, here we want the computer to do it all for us right away with as few steps as we have to make, I remember a time not so long ago wher we had to type everything out and cut and paste on the dito and copy machines and I consider myself yong at 35!!! :)

I was going to ask this question myself as I don't use Service Builder to print out the bulletin, but to select hymns and plan the service, and it is a bother to have to click on the "Melody" button for every hymn I want to look at. It seems like there ought to be an option that would always show the text or always show the melody for anything in the planning section.

We have it set correctly in the "Service Format" dialog and *still* have to do so manually.

The melody/text selection when you are planning the service is separate from the Service Format selection and we're looking at a way to help you with this.

Let me see if I've got what you're asking for: In the "Plan this Service" task, each element in the Service Outline on the left should remember what tab you were last looking at in the preview box on the right. Did I get that right? I don't think that should be too hard to do...
