I'm happy to see this new beta release - especially removing the duplicate services from years past that were showing up on the "Upcoming Services" welcome screen. I believe we're seeing real progress in resolving some long-standing problems and making v.2 a valuable program. Keep up the great work!

In version 2.1.26.23749 when type #ref# to show Scripture references for liturgy, nothing appears. I really appreciated the people knowing for where our liturgy comes, but I don't see that anymore. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for addressing this issue. Personally this has been one of the biggest casualties in the switch from ver. 1 to ver. 2. I look forward to having this working again. Thank you!

We just finished putting a few touches on a 2.1.25 update for you, and we're going to run it through some beta testing before sending it out to everyone.

We're mentioning this right now because we'd like to take a moment to explain to you what's happened with the Statistics module in Builder 2 and why you haven't had any stats for a while.

When fixing up something else in Builder back in February, we managed to set the statistics module so that it didn't actually record the stats for any hymn that was used beyond the first level of depth in a service (which is normally all of them). For most of you, this means that you haven't been recording hymn stats for a few months now.

This is completely our fault, and we apologize for it. Builder 2.1.25 will restore the functionality of the statistics recorder and module and you will once again be able to track your hymns.

You will continue to notice a "hole" in your stats for services you worked on between the day you upgraded to Builder 2.1.6 and today. We are working on a solution for this lapse. In the next update to Builder, you’ll find a menu command that will quickly repair all your statistics.

We go to great lengths to prevent problems such as this one from occurring in the Builder update and development process. This was unfortunately the kind of thing that slipped right through and then took us much longer to fix than expected.

Thank you once again for being a Lutheran Service Builder customer and for supporting our product. It is our pleasure to serve you through Lutheran Service Builder and other solutions.

You will have to delete the following folder on your computer:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Concordia Publishing House\Lutheran Service Builder 2\Patches

or on Vista:

C:\ProgramData\Concordia Publishing House\Lutheran Service Builder 2\Patches

Once you have done so, you should be able to run the Updater without issue. We are tracking this problem and will likely issue a patch to the Updater at some point soon to solve it.

The folders listed above are "hidden" on a default installation of Windows. You may have to enable viewing hidden folders in order to see them. To learn how, press F1 while on the Desktop to open Windows Help and search for "hidden folders". You should be able to find an article regarding showing hidden files and folders.

We just pushed a series of patches to bring Builder up to version 2.1.22.

We just pushed 2.1.16 to beta. Here's what's changed since 2.1.15:

Changes

Colored the title “bubble” of “Create Service” to distinguish it more from “Edit Service”

Added Liturgies to “Creative Worship” modules

The default hymnal when choosing hymns in LiturgyElementEditor is not the module you are in but Lutheran Service Book

Bug Fixes

Resolved issue where searching from the Home Screen would load an empty Search Task

Resolved performance issue where searches could be performed many times if the user held down the ‘Enter’ key

Resolved issue with ResultTree that would generate errors as a result of concurrent searches

Improved error information for null reference exception in AppWindow.ResetConditionalMenuItems and prevented exception from crashing Builder

Resolved issue where content Copied, Printed, or Saved from Builder would always be in the format (e.g. Text, Melody, et al) that was first exported

Resolved issue where extensions would not be appended to saved files if the filename ends with with looks like an extension (i.e. if “4pptx” is the file name)

Resolved a number of odd problems introduced in 2.1.15 when creating a new hymn (ContentNames weren’t selecting correctly because stanzas needed to be specified)

Resolved issue introduced in 2.1.15 which prevented TreeView nodes from being collapsed

As always, if you have any issues with this update, please post in the appropriate forum or leave a message here.

I have then had to hit Home again and hit the back arrow button which brought up the search box. (I was searching for hymns by number) 2.1.15.19008

I've been using LSB 2.1.15 all morning to plan and prepare services for the next several months and everything worked perfectly fine.

The only thing I noticed it that when I clicked on an element, the search to pull up the content took a little longer than before, but they might also be my computer, as I am testing out a new online data backup program.

Good morning, Builder users.

We are beginning work on what will become a fairly comprehensive set of documentation for Builder 2 (something that we should have started a while back). I've begun entering articles into the documentation system and have arranged a basic outline already detailing the sections I'm certain we are going to have.

If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if some of you would take a look at it and suggest for us any article additions or specific topics you'd like to see this manual address. We're hoping it will be the main stop for anyone who needs additional instruction in how to use Builder.

http://cphconnect.org/builder/docs/Lutheran_Service_Builder_2_Manual

Thanks a lot! I'll be out of the office for the next couple of days, so I won't be able to respond immediately, but I'm looking forward to receiving your feedback on this topic and working with you to make better documentation for all of our users.

We're releasing a couple of patches to bring beta users up to 2.1.15 this morning. We'd like those of you who grab them to take them for a spin and see if you notice anything working incorrectly.

There have been a couple of changes to the Plan Service task made to try and clean it up a little bit and unify the interface slightly. We've also taken the opportunity to fix a handful of problems you've reported.
