I realize that it is very possible that my question affects no one out there, but I figured I would ask anyway...

Has anyone tried to run LSB in a Ubuntu WINE environment?

I have tried to do so using Ubuntu 10.4 and the WINE environment native to it. The file downloads just fine but does not install correctly. The problem I have is that SQL Server 2008 Express does not seem to be able to load. Apparently SQL 2008 requires a Windows Vista/7 file to make it work that WINE cannot "recreate".

I have been fiddling with Ubuntu for a while now to see if it would work as a replacement for Windows and I have been pretty happy so far, especially with the use of WINE. LSB has been my first program I was not able to load/operate using WINE and I am hoping someone may have tried before and found a way to make it work.

I am working on a worship series that I hope to share in LSBX format (among others). Some of the Introits/Graduals are from propers appointed in previous hymnals but not currently available in Builder. (current version - 2.3.1.26192)

I have seen in other posts that the "Create Custom Elements" tool in Builder is the same tool used to create the standard elements. As I'm typing in the custom elements, it would be nice to be able to point them like the other Introits/Graduals. The online documentation for Builder 2 does not include the "Creating and Managing Custom Worship Resources" for me to reference.

Is there a way for me to include chant pointing in my custom elements?

Is there an electronic version of the Lectionary texts (the lessons) as they are laid out in the Lectionary volumes (either as part of builder or separately)?

I appreciate how the lectionary lays out the texts - I think it improves the reading of the texts ... IF you have the opportunity to prepare before hand. I would like to email the texts as they are laid out in the lectionary to our lectors prior to the service in which they read. Unfortunately, lending out the lectionary would not be practical (especially seeing that we would have to lend it out to three different people each weekend).

I realize that I *could* scan the lectionary and produce my own PDFs, but I would rather save myself the work (and avoid "potential legal issues").

Does the Concordia Organist through Builder support Easter Vigil, (i.e., Lux Christi, Exsultet, the long Proper Preface, etc.? I started to look at it and the only music that shows up in the burn list is the music for 930.

I'd like to add my encouragement for speedy restoration of the servers that supply the files for Concordia Organist. Holy Cross depends on Concordia Organist for our Advent and Lenten midday Worship Services since we do not have an organist for mid day services and this year we may not have one for the Lenten evening services. Concordia Organist was we,, received durning our Advent services and relieves me of leading our singing "Acapella"!

In LSB1 it was easy to get just the propers only. How do you get them in LSB2?
I've tried to build a custom bulletin for "Christmas 2 B" using "empty service outline" and then dragging the needed elements in but it won't put in the collect for the day. I just want to print the propers only. What should I do?

I'm planning to install Builder 2 on my church computer this coming weekend. I have already installed it on my home computer (though I may migrate the program to a laptop later this summer).

With Builder 1, I could copy the user.mdb file from church to a thumb drive, take it home and load it onto my home machine, so the data was the same on both installations. I don't see any obvious way to do this with Builder 2. Is there something I'm missing? Or will I just have to save all the individual services to move them? Thanks!

We're using vs 2.x for LSB. We have one seat installed/located on a machine (WinXP) and now want to install the other two seats/licenses to other workstations running WinXP. I want to put the database on a shared folder on our server (Windows Server 2003 R2) so that the other 3 workstations can access that database info.

What folder on the server should I place the database, i.e., is a specific name required, like "..All Users\Application Data\Concordia Publishing House\Lutheran Service Builder 2\States" that's used on an individual machine? What files do I copy over and/or what procedure should I follow to achomplish that task?

With three seats being used, what machine does the reporting and how is that set up?

Its been a while since I checked in here!

I'm working out a service where I am using a Biblical Canticle. I noticed the refrain makes it into the bulletin, but the chant tone does not. This will be an issue for those who have not sung the "Song of Hannah" before.

We've been using the hymnal more and more, so this normally would not be an issue. However, the service I am working on needs to be printed out. Thanks, in advance, for your time. And blessed Holy Week.
